At last, Mantaray Film was given the opportunity to throw a party in the new premises at Kattgränd 10. The old address at Tjärhovsgatan will still be used within the company's business.
"This is no representation party, but an opportunity for all project staff members to meet each other," the company director Stina Gardell explained, before she briefly mentioned all the projects currently produced by the company.
This year's Golden Manta went to Manal Masri and Frans Huhta. 2017 honorary award went to Hanna Lejonqvist for her great effort as an editor on the film Letters to a serial killer.
Our co-production Nowhere to Hide evokes strong emotions and win prizes at major festivals around the world: IDFA, Thessaloniki and most recently Best Film at the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival.
Mantaray Film look forward to finding ways to give the Swedish audience the opportunity to see and be inspired by the protagonist Noris tremendous courage and drive!
THE LANGUAGE OF SILENCE is a deeply personal documentary where Swedish filmmaker Frans Huhta sets off on an odyssey to get to know his deceased mother and come to peace with a heritage in the shadow of a suicide. The film has its world premiere at Gothenburg Film Festival, February 2, 2017.
The Language of Silence is produced by Anna Weitz and is a co-production with the Finnish production company Oktober and Film i Väst.

The stamp with Ingrid Bergman is the result of a collaboration between PostNord and the US Postal Service. It is the second time a joint issue between the United States and Sweden lead to top rankings in a international competition.
The first time was in 2005 when Greta Garbo's 100th birthday was commemorated with a stamp in both countries. Model for the award-winning Ingrid Bergman stamp is a photograph from the 1940s signed celebrity photographer Laszlo Willinger. The stamp is designed by Gustav Mårtensson, engraved by Lars Sjööblom and printed in PostNord's stamp printing in Kista, Sweden.

November 8, 2016, the German-Swedish writer Peter Weiss would have turned 100 years old. Mantaray Film is proud to announce our ongoing work with a feature length documentary about his best known novel "The Aesthetics of Resistance” and the real persons behind it. The film is directed by Lisbet Schulz Contreras and Lollo Jarnbrink and has a planned release 2018.
Zaradasht Ahmed's NOWHERE TO HIDE (2016) will be shown in the festival's main competition for Feature Length Documentary. The film is mainly a Norwegian production but co-produced by Stina Gardell for Mantaray Film. The film tells the story of peoples struggle to survive in Iraq where war has become everydaylife.
Mantaray Film's ADIL & THE SPY is piched at Nordisk Panorama 20 September 2016. The Film is directed by award-winning journalist Randi Mossige - Norheim and acclaimed director Johan palmgren, produced by Stina Gardell.
The film is developed with support by the EU MEDIA, Swedish Film Institute, and in co-production with SVT Documentary and NRK.
This year's Mantaray party was held, as usual in the garden at Slaktargården. For once, our guests did not have to hide from the rain and could completely unhindered mingle under the open sky.
Company manager Stina Gardell shared the big news, that Mantaray Film will not only produce documentary films, but also drama, fiction and humor. Not only that, the company will also produce projects that include text, poetry, still images, you name it, as long as the project has a relevance that goes hand in hand with the companys guidelines.

Mette has a long experience in the industry, most recently as a project manager for The Film Room / Swedish Filminstitute. It is with great pleasure that we welcome her to be a part of Mantaray Film.
This year's Golden Manta went to Nonstop Entertainment for their fantastic work behind the Scandinavian distributon of Jag är Ingrid (Ingrid Bergman In Her Own Words, 2015). Nonstop representative Johannes Glaumann were there to receive the award.
