When Lap-See Lam’s parents unexpectedly sold the Chinese restaurant that had been like the family’s second home, the then art student decided to 3D scan the restaurant. This resulted in a never-ending stream of artworks in which she mixes advanced VR technology with Chinese folktales and her own family story. In this documentary we follow Lap-See from these first steps, to her big international breakthrough. The film is also a tribute to the power of art and its ability to give us new perspectives on something that is so everyday that we hardly see it - like a completely ordinary Chinese restaurant.
