Stig Björkman is an 82-year-old Swedish director who has been locked up alone in his tiny apartment in Stockholm for a year due to Covid-19. To keep busy and connected he decides to contact through zoom (and film) his conversations with friends and colleagues: Isabella Rossellini, Alicia Vikander, Olivier Assayas and Joyce Carol Oates, to name a few, and to watch some of the greatest films in history which help visualize what we all are going through. Movie Man is a celebration of resilience, the human spirit, and film. And offers a new context to watch these wonderful films again and hopefully find comfort in them.
